Changangkha Lhakhang
Located at an altitude of 2300 meters above sea level the temple is located at a hillock overlooking the Thimphu Valley. The name is literally translated as the “Temple on the Northern Ridge “ It is one of the oldest temples in Bhutan

History & Origins
The 13 century Temple is credited to be founded by Lama Phajo Druggom Zhigpo, the saint who first brought the Drukpa Kagyu sect of Vajrayana Buddhism to Bhutan.
The First Lhakhang
The 1st Lhakhang adorned with the painting of :-
- painting of Tsangpa Jarey Yeshey Dorji
- Buddha of 3 times
- God of Wealth
- 4 Guardain Kings
The second Lhakhang / Goenkhang
- Main Statue is of that of Avalokiteshvara/ Chenrezig
- The following paintings can be seen on the walls of the 2nd temple :-
- Buddha with 2 disciples
- 4 Guardian Kings
- 16 Arahats
